Bishop Grosseteste University has been educating students in the heart of Lincoln City for more than 150 years. The university sits on a stunning green and peaceful campus, a short walk from Lincoln Cathedral and the old Roman city. Bishop Grosseteste University is a single-site campus and has everything you could possibly need in close proximity. They were established in 1862 as Anglican Teacher Training College for women. In 1962, they marked their centenary by changing their name to Bishop Grosseteste in honour of Robert Grosseteste, the 13th-century scientist, educator, philosopher, and Bishop of Lincoln.

They gained full university status in 2012. Bishop Grosseteste currently teaches more than 2,000 students and has undergraduate and postgraduate courses across a range of topics. Their campus has excellent facilities including a library as well as spaces to drink, eat, relax, socialise, meet friends, watch films, and exercise. In 8 of the last 10 years, they have been top nationally for employability and further study one year after graduation also.

Types of Postgraduate Programs They Run

Bishop Grosseteste University provides a number of postgraduate-level programs. They cover topics such as science, business, drama, languages, teaching, theology, children’s literature, special educational needs, mental health, and more. Accommodation

Bishop Grosseteste University has a range of on-campus and off-campus student accommodation options. They have accommodation in Wickham Hall, Constance Stewart Hall, and in the Cloud Houses. The room types, rent prices, and contract lengths vary depending on the property. You can expect your bedroom to contain a bed with a mattress, a bedside locker, a wardrobe, shelving, a desk, and a chair. Some of the bedrooms also contain a private en-suite bathroom. If not, you will have to share a bathroom with other students. Kitchens and living areas are generally shared and make for good social spaces.
