Grimsby Institute is situated in the centre of Grimsby and is the main provider of professional and technical training in the region. They offer a vast curriculum that consists of part-time and full-time provision from 14 years and up. Their range of programs includes Further and Higher Education choices providing apprenticeships, business training, community provision, commercial activities, and work-based training. The Nuns Corner Campus is home to a £6 million sports centre, the Grimsby School of Art, the Engineering and Renewable Energy Centre, and a £4 million home for their Creative Arts programs. Grimsby Institute put a lot of focus into ensuring you have the best possible college experience and have a range of exciting daily activities for you to get involved in such as sports, cooking, and more. They are the only Ofsted outstanding college in Lincolnshire, the Humber, and Grimsby.
Types of Programs They Run
Grimsby Institute provides a range of different programs. These include full-time courses, adult courses, apprenticeships, and degree courses. Some of the topics their courses cover include health, social care, technology, sport, massage therapy, management, leadership, digital solutions, animal management, counselling, photography, TV production, performing arts, youth studies, engineering, construction, creative writing, game design, and more. Most of their degree-level programs provide a Level 7 qualification. These programs can often be completed on a part-time basis as well as their adult courses and apprenticeships.
Admissions Process
To apply for a degree program at Grimsby Institute, you must make your application via the UCAS website. You will need to visit the UCAS website where you can begin filling out your application. When filling out the application, you will need to include the correct institution and course code, these can be found on the Grimsby Institute website. After you have submitted your application, the admissions team will review it and get back to you in the coming weeks. For apprenticeships, adult and full-time courses, you can apply directly on the Grimsby Institute website. To do this, visit the webpage of your chosen course and click the apply button. This will redirect you to an online application form to fill out. After you have filled it out, the admissions team will review it and contact you with the next steps.
Accommodation
Grimsby Institute currently has three Halls of Residence available for students. They have a selection of different rooms including en-suite rooms and rooms with shared facilities. The halls – Humber Lodge, Welholme House, and Scartho Hall are all a few minutes’ walk from the Nuns Corner Campus and near Grimsby Town Centre. All of their halls of residence have CCTV and 24-hour security. The halls are excellent value for money and have facilities such as contents insurance, high-speed internet, utility costs included, and Wi-Fi in addition to the college’s facilities at your disposal.
Some of these other great facilities include the campus shop, café, computer rooms, social areas, and the gym. Free parking is available on-site as well as laundry facilities and there is daily communal cleaning on weekdays. The shared common rooms generally have a TV for entertainment and act as an area where you can relax between classes and socialise. There are also bike racks in the halls. Your room will contain a bed, wardrobe, desk and chair, chest of drawers, a notice board, and either a sink basin or en-suite facilities.
