About
Leeds Art University is an arts specialist university situated in the North of England. Their students avail of a small, close-knit community within a creative atmosphere. The university’s roots trace back to 1846 and the original Leeds School of Art. In 1842, the Leeds Mechanics Institute joined with the Literary Society. This resulted in the creation of the Leeds Government School Design four years later. In 1903, the school relocated to Vernon Street and it wasn’t until 2017 that they gained university status, becoming known as Leeds Art University.
They provide a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs as well as other further education courses. They received n 87% satisfaction rating in the latest National Student Survey, the highest-ranking for any specialist arts university. In addition, the Guardian 2019 League Tables ranked them as the number one arts university in the country for design and crafts. All of the buildings on their campus have been built and designed for specialist arts education and dedicated course studios have been set up to complement this.

Accommodation
Most of the accommodation at Leeds Art University is offered to first-year students studying undergraduate programs. A specific number of rooms are also allocated to Foundation Diploma students joining from outside the area. In addition, there are a limited number of rooms that are disability-friendly.
