Plymouth College of Art was established in 1856 as the first specialist school of design and art in the city. Since then, they have occupied several sites across the city, under various names. They feel that high-quality education for life is the creative catalyst for professional, personal, and cultural transformation. They provide the most diverse, richest ecosystem of technologies, materials, practices, processes, and exchange of ideas at any UK art school. Plymouth College of Art has more than 13,000 square metres of workshops and studios across four buildings. These buildings are filled with state-of-the-art facilities and workspaces. They have a student population of 2,000 student designers, makers, and artists. Their city-centre campus is a thriving creative space for thinking, making, innovation, and collaboration. Plymouth College of Art provides a range of postgraduate, undergraduate, pre-degree, and short courses.

Types of Postgraduate Programs They Run

Plymouth College of Art offers several postgraduate-level degree programs across numerous topics. Some of these include fine art, ceramics, textile design, glass, creative education, printmaking, painting, creative practice, illustration, photography, drawing, jewellery, visual communication, and more. Admissions Process

You can apply for postgraduate and short courses directly on the Plymouth College of Art’s website. Once you have submitted your application, you will receive an email to confirm that the admissions team has received it. They will then review it and revert back to you.

Accommodation

Plymouth College of Art works with Host to provide a range of student housing options. The properties are located around the campus and surrounding area, so you are just a short walk away. Rooms in the hall’s accommodation are fully furnished to a modern standard and you can stay here for up to 51 weeks out of the year. Rooms are generally shared with other students. Some of the properties also have a 24/7 concierge as well as flat-screen televisions in the lounge and a free play pool table. Your room will contain a bed, wardrobe, storage, desk and a chair.
