About 

Based in London, Queen Mary University is a public research institution. Founded in 1785, it is also recognised as a constituent college of the federal University of London. It began as the London Medical College and in 1887, it gained official university status. It is a global university with four campuses. Its main campus is the Queen Mary University of London located in the Stepney area of Tower Hamlets.  

Its other campuses are located in Whitechapel, Holborn, and Smithfield. The university is comprised of 3 facilities including the Faculty of Science and Engineering, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry. The university has more than 27,000 students and many international students, coming from more than 160 countries.  

Postgraduate Programs They Run 

The Queen Mary University of London has tonnes of postgraduate programs for prospective students to choose from. Their courses span topics such as health, public policy, business, mathematics, marketing, economics, astrophysics, artificial intelligence, finance, and more. Courses can be completed full-time or part-time with online learning options being available also. Admissions Process 

Full-time undergraduate applicants should make their applications via the UCAS. This is a very straightforward process, simply visit the UCAS website and register your details. Then, start your application form. Be sure to include the correct institution and course codes. Finally, submit your application and the university will be in touch with you in the weeks following.  

Part-time and postgraduate applicants should use the course finder to find their chosen course. Then, press the apply now button and complete your online application form. Include any necessary supporting documentation and finally, submit your application. The university will contact you then to let you know whether they would like to offer you a place. International students can apply in the same way or via a Regional Manager.  

Accommodation 

The Queen Mary University of London provides a wide range of affordable accommodation on and in close proximity to their campuses in Charterhouse Square, Whitechapel, and Mile End. The Housing Services team can provide you with guidance as to how to find suitable housing for the duration of your studies. They also can advise you on private renting housing options. Staying in the university’s accommodation you can expect a room with a bed, a wardrobe, and a washbasin as well as a study area that has a desk, chair, and storage. Kitchen and common areas are usually shared and bathrooms are also sometimes shared depending on the room you book. You can book accommodation after you have accepted your college offer. The Admissions Office will send you an email that contains your unique username and a password. You can use this to fill out your online housing application.  

Scholarships and Financial Support 

The Queen Mary University of London has a range of scholarships available. Some of these include the Aldgate and Allhallows Foundation Scholarship, the Asylum Seekers Fee Concession, the Chevening Awards, and Commonwealth Master’s Scholarships. They also have scholarships specific to certain courses and award levels, for example, the Business and Management Postgraduate Scholarships.
