About

The Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama is the National Conservatoire of Wales. The college contributes to the cultural identity of Wales and Cardiff and attracts some of the most talented students across the globe. They provide specialist performance and practical-based training in drama and music and compete alongside an international peer group of conservatoires and specialist art colleges for the most gifted students globally, allowing students to join and influence the world of theatre, music, and more. The college has a student population of fewer than 1,000 students and as a result, has a real community feel. They aim to provide a supportive environment where students do not get lost in the crowd. The Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama provides several undergraduate and postgraduate programs across a range of different disciplines.

Types of Postgraduate Programs They Run

The Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama has a plethora of postgraduate programs to choose from. Some of the topics they span include music composition, music conducting, opera performance, acting for stage, screen, and radio, musical theatre, stage and event management, design for performance, and more. Their postgraduate level degree programs provide accreditations such as Master of Art (MA), Master of Music (MMus), and more.

Accommodation

All new students attending the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama are secured a spot in the halls of residence. The halls of residence are privately run by Unite Students and include en-suite bedrooms arranged in flats with shared living rooms. The rent is approximately £132 per week which includes bills. Scholarships and Financial Support

The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama provides a range of scholarships. The amount varies from £500 to £1500 per year. In addition to their numerous scholarships, they also launched a bursary program in 2021. This bursary program provides means-tested annual awards of a value between £800 and £1200 for all undergraduates from the UK entering study here who are from disadvantaged financial backgrounds.
