Southport College was opened in 1935 and was originally known as Southport Technical College. They are a leading provider of vocational programs for adult learners and school leavers. Southport College also provides expert apprenticeship training programs and a host of higher education courses. In addition, they offer professional courses specifically for employers.  Their university centre gives students the opportunity to study for higher-level qualifications right on their doorstep. Southport College provides smaller class sizes and their tutors are industry practiced professionals that bring years of experience to the table. Their prestigious awarding bodies include the University of Cumbria and UCLan which means you will receive full honours degrees here also.

Types of Programs They Run

Southport College has a range of programs to choose from at different levels. Some of these include courses for 16–18-year-olds, programs for 19+ students, apprenticeships, and university-level programs. They cover a host of subjects including design, business, art, beauty, computing, media production, photography, construction, illustration, games design, sport, health, social work, hairdressing, catering, engineering, musical theatre, cookery, tourism, plumbing, painting, accounting, childcare and more. Some of these programs can also be completed on a part-time basis which means you can work alongside your studies.

Admissions Process

For most of the courses at Southport College, you can make your application by visiting their website. Simply navigate to the webpage of your chosen course and click the apply button to begin filling in your information. Once you have submitted this form, the admissions team will review it and contact you with their decision. However, for university-level courses, you have to apply via the UCAS. This means you need to visit the UCAS website. When filling out your application, you will need to include the correct institution and course codes also. You will find these on the Southport College website. After you have sent your application, the college’s admissions team will contact you to let you know their decision. This can take a few weeks.
