Success for London as it is named as best student city once again

London has been named as the best student city in the world for the third year in a row!

The news came over the weekend as the accolade was announced by QS in the 2022 Best Student Cities Ranking. 

The honour has come for London for the third year running after the city beat worldwide cities including Munic and Tokyo, to name a few. There were other UK cities that placed in the Top 30 worldwide also. Edinburgh finished in 12th place, Glasgow was in 28th place and Manchester placed at number 30. 

What is the QS Best Student Cities Ranking?

The QS Best Student Cities Ranking is a yearly ranking that gathers information of certain areas including data from international students, rankings, employees, employer activity and student mix. The data is all combined to come up with the rankings. 

How to qualify to place in the rankings

In order to be eligible to be considered in the ranking, a city must have at least two universities. As well as this, the city needs to have more than a 250,000 population. 

The ranking is updated every year with all the data and statistics considered and combined to come up with the final results. 

London has over 40 institutions for students to choose from including University College London, Imperial College London, London Metropolitan University and many more.
