The University of Sheffield was founded in 1897 as an open research university. They mainly focus on the fields of science and technology. The campus consists of a number of buildings in addition to departments and faculties. They are a member of the Russell Group of leading UK research universities due to their outstanding performance for excellent research and teaching. They have been ranked as the 95th best university in the world and the 17th in the UK in the World University Rankings.

Nearby the campus is the Octagon Center which was constructed in 1983. It is a center for music venues and conferences. There are other museums too within walking distance from the campus as well as an excellent library. They have state-of-the-art facilities such as classrooms for workshops, theatre lectures, and laboratories. They have a significant amount of undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Their subjects are categorised into five different faculties. These include the Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Social Sciences, the Faculty of Medicine and Health, the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, and the Faculty of Science.

Before you start filling out your application form, ensure you meet all the entry criteria. After you have submitted your application, the university will revert back to you.

Accommodation

The University of Sheffield provides a range of student accommodation to suit your individual needs. From standard options to en-suite options and shared flats, there are lots of different options to choose from. You can expect your room to have a bed, wardrobe, desk and a chair. En-suite rooms also have a private bathroom. If your room is not an en-suite, you will have to share a bathroom with other students. Kitchen and social areas are also usually shared. You will also have access to Wi-Fi. The accommodation is all within a short walk or bus ride from the campus.
