About 

The University of Birmingham grew out of the radical vision of Joseph Chamberlain.  It was founded in 1900 and represented an entirely new model for Higher Education. They were England’s first civic university, a university where students from all sorts of backgrounds were accepted on an equal basis. Their Birmingham campus has gone from strength to strength and they now have a campus in Dubai. Every year they welcome over 30,000 students from across the globe.

Postgraduate Programs They Run 

University of Birmingham have a wide range of postgraduate programs to further develop your career. Some of the types of accreditations their courses offer include Master of Science (MSc), Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD), Graduate Diploma, Master of Art (MA), Masters of Business Administration (MBA), Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) and Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip). Courses can be completed on a full-time or part-time basis and for some courses, there are options to study online.  

Admissions Process 

All undergraduate students should apply via UCAS by filling out the online application form. It is crucial to include the university and course code which can be found on the University of Birmingham website. Once you have submitted your application, the University of Birmingham will be in touch to update you on your application. This is the same for international undergraduate students. Postgraduate students can apply directly on the course page on the university’s website. The university will get back to you then to inform you about your application’s status. This is the same for international postgraduate students.  

Accommodation 

University of Birmingham has a range of student accommodation options for you to choose from based on your needs and budget. Student accommodation is available in Oakley Court, The Spinney, Ashcroft, Bournbrook, Jarratt Hall, Shackleton and more with varying spaces. Some accommodation includes shared bathrooms, kitchens and common rooms while others are en-suites for single or double occupancy. Some of the accommodation options feature meal plans and are self-catered. Most are a short walk or bus ride from the campus.  

Scholarships and Financial Support 

University of Birmingham has a range of scholarships and bursaries to assist students in paying their college fees. Some of these scholarships include music scholarships which offer £3000 to music students to pay their fees over 3 years and sports scholarships which award between $4000 and $8000. There are also financial support options available for care leavers.
