The University of Bradford was established in 1832 as a mechanics institution. They received official university status in 1966 and as a result, they were the 40th university to be founded in England. The university has two campuses – one situated on Richmond Road and one on Emm Lane. The university provides education to over 8,000 undergraduate students and more than 2,900 postgraduate students, 15% of which are international students hailing from over 150 different countries.

They have 5 faculties, four of which are located in the city campus. These faculties include Computing, Informatics and Media, Engineering & Informatics, Health Studies, Life Sciences, Management, Law and Social Science, Engineering, Design and Technology, and Social and International Studies.
