About

The University of Cumbria was founded in 2007 and quickly made its mark in academics. They have 5 basic departments which include the Institute of Arts, Institute of Health, Institute of Science, Natural Resources and Outdoor Studies, Institute of Education, and Institute of Business, Industry, and Leadership. They provide undergraduate, postgraduate, and short courses.

The University of Cumbria has two main campuses – Lancaster Campus and Carlisle Campus. In addition to those main campuses, it has other campuses in Workington, Penrith, and Ambleside. They have world-class facilities which include the Vallum Gallery, Stanwix Theatre, and Sports and Fitness programs. They have good student supports also which includes employability counselling and career counselling. They also have fantastic laboratories and libraries.

Postgraduate Programs They Run

The University of Cumbria provides a range of postgraduate programs across a range of disciplines. These include medicine, computer science, business, marketing, physiotherapy, technology, finance, and more. Some of the award classifications their postgraduate courses offer include Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Science (MSc), Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert), Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip), and Master of Art (MA). Their postgraduate programs can be completed on a full-time or part-time basis.

Admissions Process

Students looking to study full-time undergraduate courses should apply via the UCAS. It is vital to include the correct institution and course codes, these can be found on the University of Cumbria website. Once you have sent your application, the university will be in touch with you to update you on the progress of your application.

Postgraduate applicants can apply to courses at the University of Cumbria directly on the website. Simply go to find a course and hit the apply now button. You will then be brought to an online application form which you can fill out. If you are applying for part-time courses, you can make your application in the same way. The university will then review your application and revert back to you.

Accommodation

The University of Cumbria has student accommodation in Ambleside, Carlisle, London, and Lancaster. The room types and prices vary depending on the halls of residence you live in. At a minimum, you can expect your room to have a bed, wardrobe, shelves, a desk, and a chair. You may have your own private en-suite bathroom or have to share bathroom and shower facilities with other students. Kitchen and living spaces are shared also.
