About
The University of Derby was founded in 1851 as a publicly-owned institution in England. It was originally set up as the teacher training college Derby Diocesan Institution. However, in 1992, they gained university status. Their main campus is based in Derby and has a range of facilities. These facilities include recording studios, lecture theatres, conference halls, concert venues, computer laboratories, art, and cultural venues, outdoor pitches, athletic facilities, and much more. Their Students’ Union consists of a plethora of clubs and organisations and they regularly organise events, days out, activities, and competitions. The University of Derby provides an array of postgraduate programs across many different disciplines. These include accounting, business, biology, design, architecture, psychology, computing, engineering, finance, criminology, education, and more. Postgraduate applicants can apply to courses at the University of Derby directly on the website. Simply go to find a course and hit the apply now button. You will then be brought to an online application form which you can fill out. If you are applying for part-time courses, you can make your application in the same way. The university will then review your application and revert back to you.
Accommodation
The University of Derby has its own halls of residence and they have been shortlisted for a number of awards. The room types vary depending on the price. You can expect to be a short walk from the campus and all necessary amenities. In addition, laundrette facilities are in close proximity and you will have access to Wi-Fi. Your room will have a bed, wardrobe, desk, and chair as well as other storage. You may have an en-suite, private bathroom. If not, you will have to share a bathroom and showering facility with other students. Living spaces and kitchens are shared also.
