About 

Papal Bull established University of Glasgow in 1451. The university has four campuses but the main campus is the Gilmorehill campus which is located in Hillhead. There is also the Garscube campus and the Dumfries campus. All campuses are close to public transportation routes. The Gilmorehill campus has a capacity for 2,500 students and features interactive teaching spaces, a 500-seat lecture theatre, a café and green spaces for students to enjoy.  

The Garscube campus is situated on 200 acres and is home to their School of Veterinary Medicine as well as their outdoor sports facilities which include synthetic pitches and grass. The Dumfries campus is in south-west Scotland and offers a welcoming learning environment in addition to an idyllic location. It is set on 85 acres of parkland with scenic views and is in close proximity to rivers, lochs, hiking and cycling trails. It is also a short bus ride from the historic town centre.  

Postgraduate Programs They Run 

The University of Glasgow has a wide range of courses and programs for postgraduate students to choose from. Some of the awards their courses offer include Postgraduate Certificate (PG Cert), Postgraduate Diploma (PG Dip), Master of Science (MSc), Master in Education (MEd), Master of Research (MRes) and Master of Laws (LLM). A lot of their postgraduate courses offer flexible learning options too such as part-time, distance and online learning.  

Admissions Process 

Full-time undergraduate students should make their application through UCAS. The university will be in touch after you have submitted your application to let you know whether they are offering you a place on the course of your choosing. Postgraduate and part-time students can apply for courses at University of Glasgow via their Course Finder page. Once you have clicked on your chosen course, you will see an Apply Now button. Click that and submit your application. The university will then be in touch to let you know if you have been successful.  

Accommodation 

University of Glasgow has accommodation available for undergraduate and postgraduate students. If you are interested in living in their halls of residence, you can make an application online on their website. They have a number of self-catered and catered residences to choose from. Room and bed sizes vary depending on the halls. Some rooms are for single occupancy while others are shared. All rooms come with the essentials you need and are furnished. Usually, the rooms come with a bed, desk, desk lamp, chair, storage shelves, a wardrobe, a book shelf and a notice board. Students staying in the University of Glasgow’s accommodation will have access to well-equipped kitchens that have cookers, refrigerators, microwaves, kettles, dining table, chairs and shelf space. There is also a common room and study room as well as on-site laundry facilities. Students will need to bring their own cutlery, crockery, cooking utensils and towels.
