Postgraduate Programs They Run 

University of Manchester provides a range of postgraduate programs across finance, biomedical sciences, chemistry, architecture, art, environmental studies and more. Their programs offer awards such as Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), Master of Science (MSc), Doctor of Medicine (MD), Master of Surgery (ChM) and more. These courses can be studied full-time or part-time also to accommodate work.  

Admissions Process 

UK based undergraduates must apply for courses at University of Manchester by completing and sending a filled out UCAS online form. It is important to ensure you include the correct institution and course codes in your application. After the application has been sent, University of Manchester will communicate directly with you about the status of your application.  

They may email or phone you to invite you for an interview or offer you a place. International applicants can also apply via UCAS but they must meet the entry requirements and have a specified level of ability in English language. Postgraduate students can apply by submitting the online application form for the specific course on the University of Manchester website. The university will then be in touch regarding the status of your application. 

Accommodation 

University of Manchester has a wide range of university accommodation which means there is something to suit everyone. From modern and traditional to self-catered and catered, there are tonnes of options. All new full-time undergraduate students who are coming to university alone, are applying for a full academic session, are studying for their first degree and have submitted an application for accommodation will be offered university accommodation. Exchange students will also be offered accommodation.  

The University of Manchester offers postgraduate only halls as well as mixed postgraduate and undergraduate halls. The postgraduate only halls are located in the City and Fallowfield campus and range from shared bathroom accommodation to single-room, family and partner accommodation, containing one, two and a few three-bedroom self-contained flats. The mixed halls are Ashburne Hall, Hulme Hall, Oak House, Weston Hall, Whitworth Park and Woolton Hall. You can apply for accommodation on the University of Manchester’s accommodation website here 

Scholarships and Financial Support 

University of Manchester offer student finance options to help you in paying your university fees and the cost of living in Manchester. Students can receive bursaries of up to £2,000 per year. The University of Manchester also offers some scholarships to international students, in particular, the Global Futures Scholarship. The awards total £500,000 to international students looking to study at University of Manchester.  

Another scholarship opportunity available to international students is the GREAT scholarships which are jointly funded by the university with the UK government’s GREAT Britain campaign and the British Council. They are offering £10,000 towards tuition fees for one-year master’s programmes in certain subject areas to students from Nigeria and India.
