The University of Reading was founded in 1892 as a University of Oxford extension college. They gained their Royal Charter in 1926. Currently, they have over 150,000 students from 180 different countries. They have been ranked as 27th in the Top 30 UK Universities.
They have excellent facilities and offer on-site student accommodation. Their campus is beautiful, featuring lots of recreational areas and green spaces. They have a wide range of courses that cover various disciplines including humanities, sciences, languages, the arts, and more.
Postgraduate Programs They Run
The University of Reading offers students an array of postgraduate programs. Their postgraduate covers cover subject matter such as history, agriculture, business, art, science, English literature, food, film, psychology, health, zoology, teacher training, and much more. Their postgraduate programs offer various awards such as Master of Science (MSc), Master of Research (MRes), Master of Art (MA), Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert), and more.
Admissions Process
Undergraduate applicants should make their applications via the UCAS. To apply, simply visit the UCAS website and begin your application. Be sure to include the correct institution and course codes when making your application. Once you have filled out the entire application, you can submit it. The admissions team will then review it and contact you to let you know their decision. You can also track your application’s progress on the UCAS website. International students applying for undergraduate courses can apply this way also.
Postgraduate applicants can apply for courses at the University of Reading directly on the website. To do this simply visit the course page of your chosen course and press the apply button. Then, fill out the application and submit it. Be sure to check you meet all the entry requirements of the course before applying. After you have submitted your application, the university will contact you to let you know whether they would like to offer you a place. International students looking to study postgraduate programs can apply in the same way as well as part-time applicants.
Accommodation
The University of Reading has a range of self-catered and catered student accommodation to choose from at affordable prices. Your room will either have its own en-suite bathroom or you will have to share a bathroom with other students living in the accommodation. The room you live in will have a bed, wardrobe, bedside locker, desk, chair, and shelves. The kitchen and living area will be shared. The accommodation is in close proximity to all necessary amenities as well as recreational activities and nightlife. Scholarships and Financial Support
The University of Reading does have scholarships and discounts available to help students pay their fees, however, they are limited to international students. These scholarships include the IFP Ambassador Scholarship as well as country-specific scholarships.
