About
Originally called the University of Glamorgan, the University of South Wales was founded in 2013. They have grown considerably since they were first established and now provide more than 500 courses to their students. They have four campuses in different locations – Cardiff, Dubai, Newport, and Pontypridd in addition to its main multi-campus in South Wales.
Each of the campuses is unique in its offerings. The South Wales campus is an entertainment hub while the Pontypridd campus is the biggest and houses some historic buildings. The media hub is the Cardiff Campus as it is close to BBC Studios and Pinewood Studios. The Newport Campus is the place to go if you want to pursue social, well-being, or community work. Their Dubai campus is home to the Aviation Academy.
Postgraduate Programs They Run
The University of South Wales offers a range of postgraduate programs covering topics such as media, engineering, disability studies, criminology, languages, mental health, writing, computer science, and more. Some of the accreditations their courses offer include Master of Science (MSc), Master of Art (MA), Master of Philosophy (MPhil), Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), Master of Law (LLM), Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip), Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) and more.
Admissions Process
Undergraduate applicants should make their applications via the UCAS. To apply, simply visit the UCAS website and begin your application. Be sure to include the correct institution and course codes when making your application. Once you have filled out the entire application, you can submit it. The admissions team will then review it and contact you to let you know their decision. You can also track your application’s progress on the UCAS website. International students applying for undergraduate courses can apply this way also.
Postgraduate applicants can apply for courses at the University of South Wales directly on the website. To do this simply visit the course page of your chosen course and press the apply button. Then, fill out the application and submit it. Be sure to check you meet all the entry requirements of the course before applying. After you have submitted your application, the university will contact you to let you know whether they would like to offer you a place. International students looking to study postgraduate programs can apply in the same way as well as part-time applicants.
Accommodation
The University of South Wales has accommodation options for its students at three of their campuses – Cardiff Campus, Pontypridd Campus, and Newport Campus. The rooms in their student halls of residence range from standard rooms to premium rooms, deluxe rooms, and studio flats. The prices vary depending on the room. You can expect at the very least to have a room with a bed, wardrobe, bookshelves, desk, and chair. The kitchen and living areas are usually shared. The rooms usually have their own bathrooms. Students living in the halls will have 24-hour security, CCTV cameras, self-service laundrette, and are only a short walk from necessary amenities. Some rooms also include a mini-fridge and you will have access to Wi-Fi. All utilities are included in the rent and you will get contents insurance.
