About
The University of Sunderland was founded in 1992 and is an institution for research and higher education in the North East of England. The university runs its educational programs across four campuses – two in Sunderland and one in London and Hong Kong. The Sir Tom Cowie Campus and the City Campus are the two campuses based in Sunderland. The Sir Tom Cowie Campus houses the technology, law, tourism, art, creative, and business facilities. The City Campus houses the administrative centre, gym, leisure spaces, the library, design centre as well as the student centre and its academic buildings for the Health Sciences and Education departments.
In 2012, they opened their London campus which provides several courses across financial management, business, nursing, tourism, accounting, and hospitality. The Hong Kong Campus was opened in 2017. The university has a total of five academic departments. They provide programs in education, arts, media studies, journalism, business, languages, natural sciences, health, psychology, performing arts, sports, social sciences, and pharmacy. In addition, they provide a number of short courses for professionals.
Postgraduate Programs They Run

Admissions Process
Whether you are a full-time undergraduate or a part-time student or returning to study a postgraduate degree at the University of Sunderland, you must complete an online application via UCAS. On the application, you must include the institution code and course code. You must also ensure that you meet all the entry requirements before applying. Once you have submitted your application, you will be able to track its progress. The university will then be in touch with you to update you on the status of your application and let you know if they are offering you a place.
Accommodation
The University of Sunderland has its own student accommodation within walking distance of the university in addition to all the local amenities. They also offer free transport across each of their accommodation residences. Prices range from £77 per week to £95 per week. The room sizes vary from medium to large to extra-large to suit your needs. The sizes of the flats also vary in that some people live with just one other person while others live with six. Most of the accommodation options at the University of Sunderland have a shared bathroom and kitchen.
You can also expect to have free car parking and bike storage. In your room, you can expect to have Wi-Fi, a desk and a chair, a washbasin and mirror, a noticeboard, a single bed and side table, a wardrobe, and a bookshelf. All bills are included in the fee and 40- or 50-week contracts are available. There is also the option of renting a self-contained one-bedroom flat if you prefer a quieter living environment. Scholarships and Financial Support
The University of Sunderland offers a number of scholarships, bursaries, and government grants to assist students in paying their tuition fees. They have automatically awarded scholarships which you need not to apply for as well as scholarships and bursaries that you must submit an application for. Some of these scholarships are available for under-represented groups such as travellers, asylum seekers, carers, mature students, and those who have an annual household income of £25,000 or less.
